If you imagine a regular ritual practice to be something possible only for people with lots of uninterrupted time, I encourage you to redefine your idea of ritual.
You can transform any aspect of your daily routine into ritual. Here are the key things that separate routine from ritual.
Intention. What are you calling forth into your life through the ritual?
Presence. Opening your heart to the divine beauty of the moment.
Love. Creating your ritual from a place of love.
Belief. Trusting, even for a moment, that you are a spiritual being and that you are absolutely capable of creating magic.
There are infinite reasons to create ritual. And infinite ways to do it.
Ritual is highly personal. (Despite what we’re often led to believe, you do not need to follow a specific formula.) And therein lies the magic.
The most powerful ritual is the one that feels magical to you.
For example, our household has been under increased stress in the last few weeks. When I’m stressed, I often feel disconnected, kind of floaty, and I forget the strength of my foundation.
I recently noticed that my son’s toy wheelbarrow was a perfect container for a Water ritual. That realization alone brought me a welcome sense of lightness.
So, this morning, I set the intention of creating a grounding ritual. I walked around our yard, gathering a few natural items that held special symbolism for me.
Below are a few photos of my impromptu ritual. You can also view a 30 second video on my Instagram. The sunlight sparkles made it extra magical for me!
It all took about 15 minutes (and could have been done in even less time). It calmed me deeply while in the moment, and has remained with me throughout the day. Bringing me peace, faith and clarity.
Ritual grounds you.
Centers you.
Invokes your power of presence.
Ritual reminds you that you are loved, supported and divinely held.
See the opportunity for ritual around you. Mother Earth is offering you countless ways to reawaken and reclaim your power of presence. Your magic.
