10 Quotes to Inspire Your Natural Wisdom

Here’s a curated selection of beautiful and inspiring quotes, all of which I’ve used in the Instagram feed for Our Natural Wisdom. If you enjoy them, and you’re not following me already, I hope you will!

1.“Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky.”
– Kahlil Gibran

Learn how to talk with trees (see my Facebook Live and blog post). Then, maintain your tree friend relationships, even from a distance. If you’re unable to visit your friends in person, try this: Stand tall. Breathe. Send roots of light out from the bottoms of your feet. Imagine them spreading out through the Earth. Picture your tree friend and see your roots of light connecting with their physical roots. Talk with your tree friend as you would while standing next to it. This energetic connection from a distance will strengthen your bond and your ability to do it again and again in the future.

2. “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”
– Seneca

New beginnings don’t appear in a vacuum. They’re born through our previous journeys, with all their joys and trials. When we honor what came before and what is ending we’re energetically signaling that we’re ready to receive what lies ahead with love, respect and appreciation. And this is a beautiful start to any new beginning!

3. “You live out the confusions until they become clear.”
– Anais Nin

When faced with confusion, release your focus on searching for the “best” answer. Instead, create the internal conditions for the divine answer to come to you. Do this by remembering a time when you felt clearheaded, inspired, connected with your intuition, connected with your Soul. Really breathe into that space. Feel how you felt at that time. Know that your feelings were not caused by your circumstances, but by the thoughts you were having at that time. And because they were your thoughts you can recreate them at any time, under any circumstances. Trust that when you create the internal conditions for clarity, an answer will come. Welcome that answer.

4. “We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.”
– Joseph Campbell
The life that’s waiting for you is not written in stone. There’s no destiny at work. You’re creating your life each and every day. Creation is a dynamic process that adapts and evolves. This evolution does not take place when living lock-step within a restrictive, controlled state. Rather than living your life with the fuel of fear, restriction and control, welcome your personal evolution with gratitude, compassion and love.

5. “The desire to know your own soul will end all other desires.”
– Rumi

Traveling the path of self-awareness is a profound journey of self-discovery. And as we deepen our relationship with ourselves, we become more connected with our beautiful Soul. What aspect of your Soul are you being led to discover and know?

6. “Those who contemplate the beauty of the Earth will find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.”
– Rachel Carson

Chances are good that you’ve found peace through connecting with Nature. It brings us comfort and healing, stillness, clarity, and joy. Nature also enables us to connect with our deep wisdom, our strength. This is not about connecting with something apart from us. It IS us. We are Nature. We’ve just forgotten. And remembering this is a beautiful gift we can give ourselves.

7. “You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.”
– Alan Alda

Just as many of us have lost connection with the wilderness, many have forgotten how to connect with intuition. We ALL have it. We’re born with it. It never leaves us. We just need to acknowledge it, nurture it, and appreciate it. Intuition is a fundamental aspect of our essence. It informs and guide us. If we embrace it. And one of the easiest ways to reconnect with your intuition? Through Nature.

8. “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit that changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
– Maya Angelou

Especially as mothers we must honor ourselves for the metamorphoses that we’ve experienced through our journey of life. Both the changes that others can see and our myriad internal changes. Take the time to recognize, with self-love and self-compassion, how much has gone into reaching this precise moment in your life. This is a healing and sacred act that will help you move toward making the next changes your Soul yearns to take. Intentional changes. From a grounded and loving place.

9. “To walk in nature is to witness a thousand miracles.”
– Mary Davis
When you doubt whether there is beauty and magic in this world, the best cure for what ails you is a slow walk in Nature. Breathe it in. Listen to it. Touch it. Taste it. Your heart, body and Soul will thank you.

10. “The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.”
– Caroline Myss
Deepening your self-awareness enables a stronger connection with your Soul, and with your natural wisdom. As you strengthen that connection, your Soul will guide you in the healing that’s most needed in that moment. A key element of strengthening your Soul connection is accessing stillness, time when you can silence the mind. Nature is a powerful portal to stillness, it’s a portal to your natural wisdom, and a portal to your Soul connection.
